Wife, mother, teacher, and doula joyfully serving East Tennessee. At Small & Sacred, we believe that every mother’s journey is a holy one, and every birth a divine collaboration with God. The moments surrounding birth and postpartum are not only physically powerful but spiritually rich—filled with opportunities for grace, surrender, and the quiet strength of a woman saying yes to life. My own births, and the doulas who stood beside me, opened my heart to this sacred work. Through their calm, their wisdom, and their prayers, I found a voice and a strength I never knew I had. That experience planted a seed in me—a calling to serve other mothers with that same Christ-centered care.I am a certified birth and postpartum doula through Madriella, with a background in teaching. But more importantly, I’m a woman deeply in love with God, devoted to the dignity of motherhood, and inspired daily by the humility and courage of our Blessed Mother. Her fiat—her “yes”—to life reminds me that even the most hidden, quiet acts of motherhood are powerful in Heaven’s eyes. As a mother of two, I’ve known both the joy and the heartache of postpartum life. I experienced depression after my second birth, and likely with my first as well. Though I was blessed with support from my parents during my first postpartum season, I still felt unprepared and overwhelmed. With my second child, I was better prepared—but far from family. These experiences deepened my compassion and confirmed the need for faithful, loving postpartum care. No mother should ever feel alone in this sacred season. My mission is to offer the kind of support that reflects the love of Christ—gentle, unwavering, prayerful. Whether I am whispering encouragement during labor or quietly folding baby clothes in the postpartum hush, I strive to be a vessel of peace, hope, and holy presence. The name Small & Sacred was born from my love for St. Thérèse of Lisieux, whose “little way” taught me that holiness is often found in the smallest, quietest acts of love. Her life reminds me that serving with simplicity and trust can transform lives—including my own. The rose in my logo is a tribute to her—a symbol of the beauty that blossoms when we offer our hearts to God in love.Because every new life is a miracle. Every mother is a beloved daughter of God.And every small beginning is truly, profoundly sacred.
With grace and gratitude,
Teresa
